A division clincher, a playoff clincher, a new baseball ops president in Detroit, domain names, beefcake, Big Nacho, a beer shortage, democracy in peril, and saying the quiet part out loud.
Good morning!
The Astros have clinched the AL West once again, the Mets have clinched their first postseason spot since 2016, and there were a handful of nice individual performances across baseball last night. And no, I did not phone-in the Cubs recap again today. I did, however, go a tad weird with it, because you gotta keep these things interesting.
Elsewhere: the Tigers have hired a new baseball ops guy, the Twins finally kick a couple of sorta-squatters off the “Twins.com” domain — what is this, 1998? — we have a story about nachos that sorta broke my brain, and there was an interesting first pitch in I wanna say Korea but I didn’t look it up because I was understandably distracted.
In Other Stuff: there could be a beer shortage soon, I fret about democracy, and rich people are mad that poor people may have slightly less of an incentive to fight their wars. Shocker.
