Strong pitching, walkoffs, a big suspension, an ump getting torn a new one, a pitcher who paints more than the corners, TV tropes, defenestration, journalistic cowardice, and in God we trust. Maybe.
Good morning!
We had some great pitching performances last night, including a dude fanning sixteen, Clayton Kershaw came back and pitched well even if the Dodgers lost, the Mariners and Orioles continue to cruise, and the Nats and Red Sox win in walkoffs.
Elsewhere, a former All-Star pitcher got his second suspension of the year, this time for domestic violence, MLB rips Ángel Hernández a new one, we talk about the politics of booing, and a ballplayer who probably qualifies as an “oh yeah, that guy” is also an artist.
In Other Stuff I talk about a TV trope I dislike, there was a probable defenestration, we Trust in God but, you know, only a certain god, and we have and example of some journalistic cowardice at its finest.
