Cup of Coffee: October 11, 2023
Texas makes the LCS, Mr. Clean is running for Senate, a Japanese high schooler is heading stateside, mental health, a new book, irresponsible cops, Kamala Harris, and copious amounts of coffee
Good morning!
Well, well, well . . . one naughty, nasty little team gone. Three good, sweet little teams left. The Rangers are in the LCS. The Astros are knocking on the door. So too are the Dbacks for that matter, and they could join the party tonight.
Elsewhere, a top Japanese high schooler is bypassing the NPB to come to the U.S., a not particularly well-liked ballplayer with a lot of skeletons in his closet is running for the Senate based on his likability and clean image, so that should be fun, and the NHL leans into homophobia.
In Other Stuff, a soccer team creates an amazingly effective mental health awareness message, a book I’ve long awaited has come out but has missed me completely, some police are letting murderers walk free because they don’t like the D.A.’s politics., we search for Kamala Harris, and genetics explains why I can mainline coffee all day without it really affecting me.
